Goldbears Panettone

Colourful Holidays treat: put a sweet crown on this traditional Milanese pastry with the Goldbears!

Ingredients:

Panettone:

  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 4 teaspoons panettone essence
  • 5 teaspoons fresh yeast
  • 8 cups sifted wheat flour
  • 2 cups candied fruits
  • 1 1/2 cups raisins
  • A pinch of salt
  • 2 packs of HARIBO Goldbears for decoration

Sugar Glaze:

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon milk

Recipe

1. Blend & Mix

  • Add sugar, butter, eggs, milk, panettone essence, and yeast to a mixer. Blend until all ingredients are well combined.
  • Pour this mixture into a bowl with the wheat flour and knead it thoroughly until the dough no longer sticks to your hands.
  • Add the raisins, candied fruits, a pinch of salt, and lemon zest, and mix again until the fruits are evenly distributed throughout the dough.

2. Rise & Bake

  • Place the dough into the panettone mold, filling them halfway, and let it rest for about 40 minutes, or until the dough has doubled in size.
  • Once the dough has risen, make a cross-shaped cut on top and brush it with beaten egg yolk or butter.
  • Place the panettone mold on a baking sheet and bake them in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 40 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool at room temperature.

3. Glaze & Decorate

  • In a small bowl, mix 1/2 cup of powdered sugar with 1 teaspoon of milk. Adjust the consistency of the glaze by adding more milk or sugar if the mixture is too thin.
  • Spread the glaze over the panettone and decorate it with the HARIBO Goldbears.
