Regional Accounts Director

The Regional Accounts Director will maintain and develop business by retaining existing products and launching new products through effective analysis of customer requests and sound sales recommendations.  The Regional Accounts Director must understand the day to day operations of the customers as it relates to HARIBO of America and be able to use a variety of techniques to enable win-win solutions as issues are encountered. The person in this position must be able to determine the common interests of the Company and the Customer and develop a plan, with a corresponding budget, to meet those interests. 

In addition, the plan must be closely monitored and adjustments made, as necessary, to ensure smooth business operations. The Regional Accounts Director responsible and executing the plans of the organization while managing the team of RBM’s throughout the US.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Day-to-Day Operations: managing the RBM: coach, mentor, guide and works with each RBM
  • Quarterly scheduled meetings for each RBM required; determined by VP of Sales
  • Accountable for demand strategy; pack, price promotion ~ collaboration with Customer Marketing and Finance
  • Managing trade spend; staying within guidelines of working and non-working trade
  • Accountable for influencing the 4Ps (Packaging, placement, pricing, and promotion)
  • Assist and deliver ACV targets
  • Execute and assist regional trade shows as needed
  • Accountable for joint business plans ad-hoc strategical regional accounts
  • Identifying margin improvements, efficiencies of HARIBO to meet overall EBIT target
  • Collaboration with internal teams (i.e.; logistics, marketing, customer marketing, customer success, finance, and finance sales.) in regards to product management
  • Alignment with Demand Planning regarding forecasting existing and new volume of products
  • A member of the extended management team; participate in all extended management activities.
  • Responsible for Regional Food Growth Driver—update and be accountable to deliver the channel responsibilities of the Regional Growth Driver
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business
  • CPG experience, candy – 7-10 Years
  • Management Responsibilities 7-10 years                                                                                                
  • Preferably some experience calling on the confectionery class of trade
  • Understanding of timely reporting
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to work independently and plan all sales calls
  • Ability to effectively address complex issues in an effective and efficient manner, and with complete discretion; ability to be entrusted with sensitive and confidential information
  • Result-driven with excellent judgment, interpersonal, verbal and written communication, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Good business and financial acumen; proactive thinker
  • Ability to travel overnight domestically
  • Good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs
  • Proven ability to gain commitment and build strategic work relationships
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
