We have moulded our future responsibly since our company was founded in 1920. HARIBO finances its growth on its own, thus maintaining its independence from third parties. Our development and success are not measured on a quarterly basis, but over generations.

Our determination to ensure the uncompromising quality of our products is at the heart of everything we do. Our guiding principle of “Quality first” was visible for all to see at our first production facility in Bonn – and can be found at all of HARIBO’s production sites today.

Happiness with responsibility

People have been enjoying our colourful HARIBO sweets for a century – and they can now enjoy them in more than 100 countries. As a family business in its third generation, we just celebrated our 100th anniversary this year. The company’s founder Hans Riegel registered HARIBO GmbH & Co. KG in the Bonn trade register on December 13th, 2020. HARIBO is now a leader in the gummies and licorice segment, has 16 production sites around the world and employs more than 7,000 people. The name HARIBO comes from HAns RIegel BOnn and represents happiness, variety and fun treats for young and old alike. The story of our success is based on the highest standards of quality and on the trust we have gained from consumers. We have a special responsibility to those consumers, and to our employees.

Quality: from generation to generation

We produce 160 million Goldbears daily. Our philosophy of “Quality first” provides the foundations for all of our products and services. Our consumers and trade partners can always rely on a consistently high level of quality, thanks to our international quality policy. All HARIBO production sites are certified to FSSC 22000 (Food Safety System Certification 22000), which represents the highest quality and safety requirements throughout the manufacturing and supply chain. All quality processes and structures are applied uniformly for the entire HARIBO Group. It’s important to us that every employee supports the quality of our products in their own area of responsibility. Our “Quality first” principle is clearly displayed at every production site.
