People have been enjoying our colourful HARIBO sweets for more than a century – and they can now enjoy them in more than 100 countries. Our family business has now reached the third generation and we are celebrating our 100th birthday this year. The company’s founder Hans Riegel registered HARIBO GmbH & Co. KG in the Bonn trade register on 13 December 1920. HARIBO is now a leader in fruit gummies and liquorice, has 16 production sites around the world and employs more than 7,000 people. The name HARIBO comes from HAns RIegel BOnn and represents happiness, variety and fun treats for young and old alike. The story of our success is based on the highest standards of quality and on the trust we have gained from consumers. We have a very special responsibility to those consumers, and to our employees.

The principle of ‘Vor allem Qualität’ (Quality first) was there for all to see at our very first production site in Bonn – and is still in large letters at all HARIBO production sites today.

We produce 160 million Goldbears in one day alone. Our philosophy of ‘Quality first’ provides the foundations for all of our products and services. Our consumers and trade partners can always rely on a consistently high level of quality. This is down to our international quality policy. All HARIBO production sites are certified to FSSC 22000 (Food Safety System Certification 22000). This standard means the highest quality and safety requirements are met throughout the manufacturing and supply chain. All quality processes and structures are applied uniformly for the entire HARIBO Group. It’s important to us that every employee supports the quality of our products in their own area of responsibility. Our ‘Quality first’ principle is clearly displayed at every production site.
