Marketing Manager - Japan
HARIBO Japan is looking for a Marketing Manager Japan to lead marketing, brand management and communication activities for our business in Japan. Reporting to the Country Manager Japan and dotted line to the Director Marketing, Asia Pacific in Singapore, the role focuses on leading marketing and brand initiatives, developing portfolio strategy, new product development, and communication strategy based on local insights. This is a hands-on role for a strategic yet execution-driven role for a marketer who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about leading end-to-end brand building while ensuring global consistency and local relevance.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic and operative lead of all marketing, brand management, communications and PR related activities for Japan
- Develop and execute portfolio strategies, including innovation, New product developments, seasonal campaigns and limited editions – adapted to local trends and consumer preferences – including monitoring, analyzing and evaluation those
- Own and execute 360° communication strategies, including TVC development, digital, social media and PR
- Drive impactful consumer promotions and brand activations such as road shows, sampling, brand experience initiatives across online and offline touch points
- Strong collaboration to work closely with following cross functional teams and departments: Global/Regional marketing, Regional consumer insights, Local Trade marketing, Local Sales department and local distributor partner teams for campaign execution and alignment with retail plans.
- Market and consumer data analysis and data extraction including local trends, market development and competitor activities
- Manage external creative and media agencies for high quality local execution
- Full accountability for the country marketing budget and performance KPIs
Qualifications and experience
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business or related field.
- Preferably 10+ years (min < 6+ years) Marketing experience in FMCG in food category (f.e. confectionary, snacks) or other FMCG categories
- Deep knowledge of the Japanese market, including consumer behavior, media landscape, retail environment, trade scheme, and cultural nuances
- Strong product development experience based on consumer and shopper insights
- Proven track record in brand building, campaign development and nationwide consumer promotions
- Strong hands-on experience with ATL and BTL campaign execution, including TV, digital, social and in-store activations.
- Solid experience working with and managing creative/media agencies and distribution partners
