Trade Marketing Manager - Japan

As a Trade Marketing Manager, you are responsible to develop and coordinate Trade Marketing Strategies & Activities to implement in key accounts and channels at local level by tailoring strategies to Retail & Channels specificities, and be the owner for Perfect Store, in-store activities, and trade implementation for strong and profitable growth. Trade Marketing role is seen as key leader in the country and a critical driving force to deliver Local Commercial strategy and accelerate the growth. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

  • Align yearly promotion sales calendar and resources in collaboration with regional team and distribution partner and build Trade Marketing plan accordingly.
  • Define clear promotional guidelines to both online and offline and ensure Top Quality of execution.
  • Support the alignment of key Business Drivers and targets by channel and customer and measure them with efficient tracking system.
  • Drive yearly BTL planning based on key priorities and guidelines and analyze ROI and effectiveness of on-going promotional activities with distribution partner, to optimize the budget.
  • Supervise the Trade Marketing Plan in achieving Marketing and Sales objectives in all channels, through the implementation of appropriate in-store developments, distribution, promotions, and product mix.
  • Lead in the conceptualization and execution of all Trade promotions: from promotion mechanics, POSM design concepts, stock planning, to the final mile of Trade implementation with seamless execution.
  • Provide proactively key insights to optimize demand planning and forecast, especially linked to promotional activities, and anticipate risk & opportunities.
  • Coordinate with distribution partner and third party Merchandising team to develop and deploy Merchandising activities and extra visibility in stores.
  • Evaluate / analyze Merchandising actions and propose necessary adjustments when required.
  • Customize and implement with distributor and third party Merchandising team, successful merchandising planograms in different retailers to optimize shopper conversions and engagements.
  • Constantly evaluate and improve shoppers’ engagements at primary shelf and promotion areas to lead to more effective value proposition of the products.
  • Propose development of a new POP tools based on the channel needs.
  • Analyze the effectiveness of all trade promotional plans implemented in areas of products, tactics, trade investments and displays, and recommend appropriate improvement plans.
  • Have a thorough understanding of local market trends including category, competition, channels, customers issue/ opportunities, consumers, and shoppers to share inspiring insights and propose actions to capture market opportunities with on-going communication to Marketing, Sales and distribution partner.
  • Keep a deep understanding of pricing and trade margin situation, evolution, risks, opportunities with a strong benchmark analysis.
  • Closely monitor launches and activities, as well as competition’s activities and results.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of objectives and strategies and provide continuous feedback/input to Haribo Asia Pacific Trade Marketing and Marketing teams.
  • Be a great communication bridge between Haribo and distribution partner. Clearly deliver Brand strategies and Marketing programs to retailers.

 

This position will report to the Country Manager – Japan with a dotted line to the Head of Trade Marketing APAC based in Singapore.

Key Qualifications and Competencies

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in the related studies
  • Minimum 5 years of trade marketing or sales experience
  • Commercial experience in an FMCG/ food environment preferred
  • Excellent knowledge and application of PowerPoint and Excel
  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Japanese
  • Able and willing to travel
