Thanks to the tremendous trust of our consumers, the sweets kitchen in Bonn has become an international player: we’re now represented on five continents and 160 million HARIBO Goldbears leave our facilities every day. Two things have not changed: we have remained a family business and our uncompromising standards in terms of product quality still apply to this day. This foundation also allows us to live up to the growing responsibility of an international sweets company.

Quality as a mindset

The HARIBO philosophy of “Quality first” has been an integral part of our corporate values since the company was founded in 1920. For us, extraordinary quality is not a keyword, but rather an established principle for our daily operations. Quality begins with the product development stage and our use of flawless raw materials, which we check carefully with regular lab analysis and inspection of incoming goods before they are used. As a further part of our commitment to excellent quality, we also monitor every individual process step in production and carry out stringent checks to guarantee outstanding product safety. The result is HARIBO products that delight end consumers with their freshness, flavours, varieties, consistency and appearance.

Quality as an area of management

Thanks to the introduction of international, continuous quality management, we maintain superior quality standards along the entire logistics chain and through to our Consumer Service. This quality management is based on the applicable legal requirements in the food production industry such as the principles of hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP). The competent authorities conduct both routine and unannounced compliance audits. But our efforts don’t end there. For example, we have independent auditors certify all HARIBO production sites every year in accordance with the internationally recognized food safety standard FSSC 22000. Our internal team of auditors also conducts both routine and unannounced checks to ensure compliance with various parameters such as requirements related to recipes, hygiene and processes.
