HARIBO UK’s 13th location officially opens at Manchester’s iconic Trafford Centre.
Our beloved HARIBO Mascot Goldbear officially opened the sweet-maker's new store at Trafford Centre today, Friday 5th of December, with fans excitedly queuing to step inside!
Greeted by our classic treats like Starmix and Tangfastics, as well as popular new products such as Nostalgix, Manchester’s kids and grown-ups all celebrated their inner child as they experienced first-hand the happy world of HARIBO.
The first 75 customers received a special treat: goody bags full of favourites, presented by Wood Street Mission, the our new Trafford store's charity partner. The partnership is a natural fit, as Wood Street Mission shares our spirit of creating moments of childlike happiness by providing families in need with children's clothes, bedding, baby equipment, toys and books.
Other visitors enjoyed discovering limited edition festive ranges such as Merry Mix and Elf Surprises, and global favourites such as HARIBO Favoritos and Watermelon from Spain, HARIBO Dragibus and Tagada from France, or HARIBO liquorice Schnecken from Germany. True to our belief that everyone should be able to enjoy moments of childlike happiness, the store contains a wide variety of halal, vegetarian, and sugar- reduced treats.
A showpiece near the front of the store, excited visitors can see the large “Pick Your Mix” station, which offers a fantastic variety of HARIBO and MAOAM products for shoppers to make their own unique combination of treats. Elsewhere, exclusive merchandise and gifts are on display, perfect for shoppers looking to share some HARIBO joy this Christmas.
Today, the Trafford store becomes our 13th retail location in the UK, and the third opening this year following Glasgow’s Silverburn in September and Kent’s Bluewater in February. As the UK’s largest sweet-maker, HARIBO UK continues to invest in its retail presence, so it can keep spreading moments of childlike happiness one store at a time throughout the country.
Celebrating the opening of HARIBO’s 13th UK retail store, Rebecca Fox, Head of Retail at HARIBO UK, said: “Today was a fantastic day that exceeded all our expectations. It was a privilege to see the excitement and joy on everyone’s faces as they explored our new store here in Trafford. It has been great to open our new store just in time for the festive period, and we are proud to play a part in Christmas celebrations for families all across Manchester!”
Simon Layton, Centre Director at Trafford Centre, added: “A huge Trafford Centre welcome to HARIBO! The new store looks fantastic and it was wonderful to see so many smiling faces attend the launch. We’re sure that our guests will love visiting this exciting new store.“
Kathryn Tighe, Fundraising Lead at Wood Street Mission, said: “Wood Street Mission is truly honoured to be chosen as the HARIBO Manchester Store Official Charity Partner. We are excited to work with the team to make a difference to local children through our five core projects and the vital support will help us continue to provide practical help to children living in Manchester and Salford. Thank you to the HARIBO team, together we can make a lasting impact.”
