START OF THE SECOND YEAR OF OUR HARIBO HAPPINESS TOGETHER FUND
We are delighted to see the launch of the second year of the HARIBO Happiness Together Fund - Encouraging Intergenerational Friendships That Change Lives.
In partnership with Community Foundation Wakefield District, our fund will aim to reduce social isolation, and encourage intergenerational friendships and knowledge-sharing in our local community.
Building on the success of previous series of events and activities from our first year, this fund will continue to create opportunities for memorable, shared experiences and moments of fun and happiness whilst reducing loneliness and improving welfare and wellbeing close to home.
Jon Hughes, Managing Director of HARIBO UK, says, ‘At HARIBO, we have seen first-hand how bringing generations together to deliver moments of happiness and build friendships can have a positive impact on all involved. With 600 team members throughout the district, we are really proud of this programme which will address loneliness, build friendships and support our local communities in a fun and exciting way.’
Successful projects in the first two rounds of the HARIBO Happiness Fund included ‘Tea With a Pony’ sessions, delivered by DIAL Wood Carriage Driving for the Disabled, and a two-year programme of personal safety training sessions open to various minority groups and women of all ages, delivered by Blossom Training and Development.
The HARIBO Happiness Fund will support programmes that deliver intergenerational events and activities which will engage older and younger people and target those in the 16 -24 age group and those who are aged 55 plus. Working together, both groups will benefit and learn from the other.
