TEA WITH A PONY DELIVERS SMILES
Meet Tyson, just one of five ponies that have been helping to deliver smiles and create friendships between the young and old as part of Tea with a Pony, a project supported by the HARIBO Happiness Together Fund.
Facilitated by Dial Wood Carriage Driving for the Disabled, Tea with a Pony started this summer and flourished over tea, cake and ponies!
As part of the project, which took place in a stunning location in Flockton, volunteers assisted disabled youngsters with their ponies and also people with dementia, bringing them together to socialise over their shared experiences.
Ailsa Stott, Committee Member from Dial Wood Carriage Driving for the Disabled, comments: “Our ponies help to put individuals at ease. They create a warm and welcoming atmosphere that encourages conversation and smiles. Combine this with tea and cake, and we deliver an unforgettable experience.
Tabea Powell, Corporate Communications Manager at HARIBO, adds: “We’ve loved seeing the pictures from the Tea with a Pony project; it captures just what we were hoping for when we created the HARIBO Happiness Together Fund with the Community Foundation Wakefield District – smiles all around!”
