The annual Martin House Glitterball recently took place raising a record amount for the Yorkshire charity.
The annual Martin House Glitter Ball has once again brought supporters together to make a meaningful difference, raising more than £280,000 to help children and young people with life-shortening conditions and their families across Yorkshire.
Hosted at Rudding Park Hotel in Harrogate by broadcasters Christine Talbot and Duncan Wood, the evening welcomed hundreds of guests for a night of fundraising, entertainment and celebration in support of the incredible work carried out by Martin House Children's Hospice.
As headline sponsor, HARIBO UK was proud to support the event, continuing our long-standing partnership with Martin House, which spans over 18 years. Guests enjoyed a range of exciting auction prizes throughout the evening, including a private coaching session with Sir Gareth Southgate, a long-time ambassador of the charity, and plenty of HARIBO was on offer, helping to drive fundraising efforts to new heights.
The total of £280,000 will help Martin House continue providing specialist palliative care and support to children and young people with life-shortening conditions, and their families, across West, North and East Yorkshire.
To put that total into perspective, £150,000 could help fund a doctor for a year, £35,000 could help keep Martin House running for a full day, and £20,000 could help run the hydrotherapy pool for a month.
Phil Murphy, Chief Marketing Officer at HARIBO UK, said:
"The Martin House Glitter Ball is a celebration with real purpose, bringing people together to raise awareness and vital funds that enable Martin House to continue providing exceptional care and support to children, young people and their families. We're incredibly proud to support such an important cause and to see the generosity of everyone involved help achieve another fantastic fundraising result."
Robyn Mountain Wade, Director of Income Generation at Martin House Children's Hospice, added:
"We are absolutely overwhelmed by the generosity shown at this year's Glitter Ball. To raise over £280,000 in one evening is an extraordinary achievement, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who supported the event and helped make the night possible."
The evening's success highlights the power of communities, businesses and supporters coming together to make a difference, helping Martin House continue its vital work for families across Yorkshire.
