Quality Lab Technician
Start: immediately in Pleasant Prairie, WI / United StatesReporting to the Quality Control Manager, the Quality Lab Technician plays a key role in food safety. This position is responsible for conducting testing procedures before, during, and after manufacturing processes of both raw materials and products to ensure that products comply with required quality standards with minimal downtime. The Quality Lab Technician coordinates and executes the quality program designed to ensure the safe production of HARIBO of America brands, consistent with established standards.
Responsibilities:
- Perform sampling of incoming goods (ingredients and packaging), in process, and finished product per approved procedures.
- Ensures on time run for all raw and packaging materials.
- Calibrate bench top scales, pH units and other testing parameters per established procedure and frequency, on the production/packaging floor daily.
- Maintain detailed, timely, and accurate reports and records, and report results, concerns, and problems to Laboratory Management in a timely manner.
- Perform any laboratory activities by following the Good Lab Practices.
- Ensures that data (paper and electronic) are properly classified, controlled, and stored.
- Maintain and clean lab equipment as outlined in lab protocols.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science or Technical Degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science, Public Health, or related field preferred.
- Experience in a Quality Control factory and/or laboratory testing environment preferred but not required.
- Must have good written, analytical, and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with Good Lab Practices a plus.
- Demonstrate understanding of Excel, PowerPoint, or similar tools.
- Ability to collaboratively work cross-functionally across departments is required.
- Ability to utilize systems and good administrative practices to maintain an efficient work schedule.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
