National Account Manager - Kroger

The National Account Manager - Kroger is responsible for directly managing and growing strategic partnerships between HARIBO of America and multiple Grocery / Food channel retailers, including Kroger and it's banner of grocery retailers nation-wide across the United States. The National Account Manager will achieve and/or exceed sales goals and KPIs by successfully partnering internal and external stakeholders to achieve mutual goals.

This is a remote, field based position. The National Account Manager - Kroger will have 5+ years of strategic account sales and business development experience specifically in the CPG - Consumer Packaged Goods industry. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree, prior experience managing national accounts, experience managing Brokers, prior account management specifically calling on Kroger headquarters, and experience utilizing 84.51 data. While this is a remote field based position, the ideal candidate will currently reside in the greater Cincinnati metropolitan area due to the geographic location of Kroger corporate headquarters.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategies and plans that meet assigned sales and market share goals for assigned business in the Grocery and Food retail channel, including Kroger and it's banner of grocery stores nation-wide that include Kroger and/or it's subsidiaries:  Ralphs, Dillions, King Soopers, Fred Meyer, Harris Teeter, Pick N' Save, Metro Market, Mariano's, or other Kroger owned grocery store chains
  • Consistently achieve sales and profitability goals, while operating within budgetary constraints, to contribute overall to the profitability of HARIBO of America
  • Develop accurate rolling sales forecasts, partner with HARIBO's Supply Chain teams to minimize out-of-stocks
  • Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders including Trade Marketing, Brand Marketing, Commercialization, Supply Chain, Demand Planning, and Sales Finance
  • Understand assigned customers, including Kroger and it's subsidiaries. Understand their strategies, operations, capabilities, and retail customer's goals
  • Lead, collaborate, and manage Broker relationships
  • Regularly provide business updates and reporting to key stakeholders

 

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of strategic sales experience specifically within the CPG - Consumer Packaged Goods industry
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field
  • Experience calling on corporate headquarters
  • Working knowledge of customer and syndicated data tools (IRI, Circana, Nielsen, etc)
  • This is a remote, field-based position that requires ability to travel up to 40% of the time, nation-wide, with overnight stays

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience calling on/selling into Kroger headquarters and/or it's subsidiaries including Ralphs, Dillons, King Soopers, Fred Meyer, Harris Teeter, Pick N' Save, Metro Market, Mariano's, or other Kroger owned grocery store chains
  • Currently reside in the greater Cincinnati metropolitan area due to the geographic location of Kroger corporate headquarters
  • Prior experience managing National Accounts
  • Prior experience managing Brokers
  • Category Management experience / knowledge
  • Candy, Confectionary, or Salty Snacks experience
  • Experience utilizing 84.51 data to build insights and sell-in stories
