HARIBO ACHIEVE 14TH RoSPA GOLD AND PRESIDENT’S AWARD FOR SAFETY STANDARDS

Presented to the team during a ceremony at Birmingham’s Hilton Metropole Hotel on 6th June, the accolade marks the business’ 14th year of gold excellence.

The RoSPA Awards scheme, which receives entries from organisations around the world, recognises achievement in health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.

Awarded only to those who repeatedly accomplish the gold award criteria, achievement of the President’s Award follows a rigorous entry process.

Graham Duckitt, HSE Manager at HARIBO, comments:

“It’s a great honour to once again accomplish the RoSPA President’s Award which acknowledges the commitment that HARIBO has to maintaining a safe environment for our team members and visitors.

“We dedicate a great deal of time, not only to the awards entry itself but to keeping health and safety standards at the very highest level throughout the year.”

Collating evidence from nearly all areas of the business, the awards submission takes the team at HARIBO almost a month to complete.

Julia Small, RoSPA’s Head of Qualifications, Awards and Events, said: “The RoSPA Awards have become the key fixture in the health and safety calendar with new sponsors and new awards this year including the Leisure Safety Awards, the Safe@Work Safe@Home Award and the Inspiration Awards. Highly-respected, with almost 2,000 entrants every year, RoSPA award winners benefit from the wide-ranging rewards of improved sector reputation.”

This coveted award follows the results of an external independent HSE audit carried out by the manufacturers’ organisation, Make UK (formerly EEF). Examining the business’ health and safety management systems and legal compliance, HARIBO scored a near perfect 95%.

Collectively representing 20,000 businesses, Make UK is considered to be the representative voice of UK manufacturing. From HR and employment law, health and safety to environmental and productivity improvement, their advice, expertise and influence enables businesses to remain safe, compliant and future-focused.
