Sr. Manager Sales Planning

The Sr. Manager, Sales Planning will lead our team of Sales Planners while working closely with our Demand Planning team. Located on-site at the HARIBO of America corporate headquarters in Rosemont, Illinois, this role will report up to the Sr. Director of Revenue Management, Sales Planning & Demand Planning. 

The Sr. Manager, Sales Planning will lead the development of the sales planning function for the entire United States market for HARIBO of America. This role will lead the overall Sales Planning process with the objective to support the sales team to achieve their sales targets and work with them to identify gaps and opportunities. Reporting on retail customer's sales performance, identifying key growth drivers, predicting trends, and working closely with sales leaders to identify opportunities or gaps and make recommendations on actions to address these opportunities to close the gap.  The ideal Sr. Manager, Sales Planning candidate will have 7+ years of experience in Sales Planning, Demand Planning, or related function within the CPG / Consumer Packaged Goods industry. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree, advanced Excel skills, and SAP experience is preferred. 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the Sales Planning function which includes analyzing retail customer demand and product demand, fine tune forecasts, review marketing strategies that HARIBO has used to promote products and stimulate growth and evaluate their effectiveness
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of Sales Planners while partnering with our Demand Planning team
  • Partner with internal Sales leaders (including Directors and VP level) and Marketing Brand Managers to assess trends, promotions, and activities that impact sales volume
  • Lead the demand review as a key step of the company's Sales & Operations Planning ( S & OP ) process
  • Monitor key performance indicators ( KPIs ) and provide regular, accurate, and updated reports to senior leadership
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of the Sales Planning process 
  • Lead and coordinate the sales planning process for both the annual operating plan and the quarterly forecasts. Ensure that retail customer targets are in line with business expectations and customer's strategy

 

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in Sales Planning, Demand Planning, financial analysis, or related functions in the consumer goods industry to include work experience in Sales Planning
  • Sales forecasting experience, utilizing forecasting tools
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP experience preferred
  • MBA - Master's Degree in Business Administration 
  • Prior Supervisory experience to include managing, supervising, coaching, mentoring, leading others
  • Prior experience in Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) such as candy, confectionery, salty snacks, or related FMCG

 

Compensation

Target Hiring Pay Range: $120,000 - $140,000 annually

This pay range represents the min/max target annual base salary range HARIBO of America, Inc. may pay for this position at the time of this posting. Please note, a candidate’s offered annual salary will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate's relevant education, experience, qualifications, skills, internal equity, and the geographical location of the role.
