Procurement Buyer
Start: immediately in Chicago/Rosemont, IL / United StatesAs a member of our Procurement team, the Procurement Buyer recommends and develops strategic purchasing initiatives for Indirect procurement needs including corporate office supplies, corporate travel services, computer equipment and company cell phones, facilities services, utilities, and other related purchasing. Located on-site at the HARIBO of America corporate headquarters in Rosemont, Illinois, the Procurement Buyer - Indirect will source vendors and products, creating RFPs, negotiate contracts, and serve as the liaison between vendors and internal stakeholders.
The ideal Procurement Buyer will have 3+ years of experience as a Buyer or Procurement Buyer, prior experience sourcing and purchasing items such as office supplies, travel and fleet services, utilities, and other products and services. Additionally, the candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree and experience using SAP is highly preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the entire contract lifecycle, including drafting agreements, negotiating terms and prices, and approving and executing the final signed contract
- Manage the end-to-end strategic sourcing process including sourcing new vendors, data and market analysis, strategy development, pricing negotiations, and contract review
- Develop long-term partnerships with world-class suppliers
- Perform cost benefit analysis and determine opportunities for savings, project efficiency, and strategic sourcing iniatives
- Conduct day-to-day purchasing for multiple departments and corporate functions
- Create RFPs and bid documents, review agreements, continuously optimize processes
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in a Buyer or Procurement Buyer role
- Prior experience using an ERP system for purchasing, buying, etc -- SAP strongly preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related role
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience using SAP
- Negotiation skills training
- Experience creating RFPs
- Prior indirect purchasing experience such as purchasing office supplies and office equipment, purchasing corporate travel and entertainment, fleet programs, and other purchasing for corporate functions
