HARIBO offers hope with support for local hospices

Following many years of working together, HARIBO has once again named local organisations, Martin House Hospice Care for Children and Young People and the Prince of Wales Hospice, as charities which will benefit from the brand’s support during 2020.

Pledging its on-going backing, HARIBO will continue to provide vital assistance to each organisation through a schedule of fundraising activities. Inlight of the current challenges faced, all events supported will be appropriately timed throughout the year.

Julie Beaman, Communications Assistant at HARIBO, comments:

“Having worked with Martin House and the Prince of Wales Hospice for many years, we have such a deep respect and admiration for the fantastic care that they provide within our local communities. “Now, perhaps even more than ever, they need our support. While we will need to adjust the timing of our fundraising plans, we are still just as determined as ever to help in any way that we can. “With each passing year, it continues to be an absolute honour to be a part of each charity’s legacy.”

Martin House cares for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions from across West, North and East Yorkshire, as well as supporting their families.

Detailing just how valuable HARIBO’s help has been to the organisation during the last nine years, Lucy Pickford, Head of Relationships and Strategic Partnership at Martin House, comments: “The dedication shown by the team at HARIBO is nothing short of amazing, and we are so thankful for their continued efforts which make such a valuable difference to the lives of those in our care.

“No day is ever easy as a charitable organisation, and a lot of work goes into raising the funds necessary to make a difference to our young people’s lives but under the current circumstances this support is so desperately needed, and is appreciated more than ever.”

The Prince of Wales Hospice provides palliative care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses, while also helping families through what is an emotionally challenging time for all. Having worked alongside the organisation for over 20 years, HARIBO’s support has had a big impact on the lives of many.

Jill Kirkham, Fundraising Manager at the Prince of Wales Hospice, comments:

“With our shops closed, and fundraising events postponed, we are under immense financial pressure. So, to hear the news of HARIBO’s continued support has provided a much-appreciated glimmer of hope in what is a tremendously challenging time for us. We remain incredibly thankful for the fantastic sums of money that the team at HARIBO has raised over the years, there is no doubt that these contributions have greatly improved the comfort and care that we have been able to offer.”
