National Account Manager – Convenience Store (SOUTHERN REGION)

The National Account Manager – Convenience Store (SOUTHERN REGION), is responsible for driving sales performance, market share, and brand representation of HARIBO of America in convenience, specialty markets, retailers, and distributors. This role owns the relationship with specific convenience/ specialty markets retailers and distributors, and is responsible for the creation and execution of an annual joint business plan, negotiating all retailer/trade-related terms/contracts, data access/KPI-tracking, sharing and translating category insights into actionable plans, and addressing all retailer-specific requests/requirements. This person will also manage regional and nationally based brokers. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute strategies and plans to meet assigned sales and market share goals.
  • Own, manage and develop strong relationships with assigned customers within the convenience and specialty markets channels.
  • Manage and direct all third-party brokers within your designated territory.
  • Address all retailer specific requests/requirements.
  • Negotiate all trade-related terms and contracts.
  • Conduct regular business reviews.
  • Educate relevant internal Sales, Marketing, and Finance members of HoA on key aspects of assigned retailer’s business and needs.
  • Create strong business plan for assigned customers.
  • Understand assigned customers’ strategies/roadmaps, organization, operations, shoppers, capabilities and best practices.
  • Understand c-store/specialty markets customer requirements for strategic partnerships in order to help grow HoA’s business.
  • Identify relevant KPIs, secure necessary data to measure and track accordingly.
  • Create and execute annual joint business plans (includes partnering with operations/supply chain/finance as necessary to enable key plan elements).
  • Drive category and HoA brokers sales growth, markets share & brand representation.
  • Translate category roadmaps and CAPs into actionable plans for assigned retailers.
  • Monitor and improve brand distribution, representation and discoverability at assigned customers within the convenience channels.
  • Collaborate with brand/shopper marketing on key programs.
  • Manage trade budget (checkbook, trade funds with specific customers, etc.) and ensure trade spending is kept within the budget. Utilize the trade budget to create specific programs which drives the business.
  • Develop strong understanding and analyze various retailer’s programs’ ROI.
  • Provide accurate and timely sales forecasts.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • BA or BS required
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in CPG, either in consumer marketing or customer marketing. Confectionary is a plus
  • Experience within Convenience Store Market preferred
  • Must demonstrate exceptional management and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and effectively on a team
  • Result-driven with excellent judgment, and decision making, interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and analytical skills
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Proven ability to gain commitment and build strategic work relationships
  • Advanced knowledge and skills MS Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Skills in IRI and/or Nielsen Database reporting desired
  • Ability to travel up to 25% 
  • Prefer candidate to live in the southern region of Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri or Illinois with the ability to travel
